Thursday Tips & My Two Cents…

When confirming your final head count, don’t assume your guests who have not sent in their RSVP’s are not showing up. You will be surprised how many guests assume that you assume they are attending! Don’t be afraid to pick up the phone or have a close friend/family member call any guests you have not received an RSVP for.

TRUST me, 17 years ago I made the mistake of listening to my husband who told me he KNEW certain people were attending our wedding. Keep in mind, these people confirmed with him long before the invitations were sent out. Being that I was the soon to be Mrs I wanted to respect his certainty, and assumed he knew his guests better than I did. Needless to say, we had three completely empty tables. *Sigh* Lesson learned…never assume your guests are coming!

When looking for vendors: Don’t just settle on a wedding vendor because they offer the best pricing. Take your time to research different vendors to see what they have to offer you, check their experience and references. Remember….”cheapest is NOT always best!”

When Selecting Your Flower Girl(s) and Ring Bearer(s)

Don’t be upset when: Your flower girl or ring bearer doesn’t smile and make it down the aisle “perfectly” like you planned. Remember they are children and it can be overwhelming (especially if they are really young) to see so many unfamiliar faces staring at them. If the parent(s) are not in the wedding make sure they are sitting in the front and have an aisle seat to help coax the child down the aisle.

My Future Husband Doesn’t Seem Excited…

Lack of excitement does not mean it’s time to question your upcoming wedding: Just because your FH is not as excited as you are to plan your wedding doesn’t mean he isn’t excited about your wedding day and spending the rest of his life with you!
