Anyone who truly knows me knows I am one of those people who wishes I could help everyone who needs help.  When I saw one of our friends, Damien from Damien Smith Photography post the blog below about one of his previous clients my heart went out to this family.  Being that I have two girls of my own and have so many children surrounding me I can’t imagine what this family is going through.  My heart was touched and I felt the desire to help.

One of my clients whose wedding I photographed almost 5 years ago just had two adorable babies a few months ago.  Twins, a boy and a girl.  A few months after birth they discovered that their daughter, Malia, had a heart condition.  They took her to the hospital in December, and she’s been there ever since.  It was determined that she needed a new heart.  So, the wait began.  A few weeks ago she received her new heart!  Our prayers go out to the donor family. Now that she has the heart, we need to make sure that she’s able to keep it.  The way doctors do this is thru medication.  Estimated cost of medication for 1 year is about $55,000.
